Research Outline
This PhD research considers the effects organisational culture has on the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, such as Lean principles and Total Quality Management. The implementation of specific quality improvement initiative(s) is likely to have an effect on the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) performance targets at the District Health Board (DHB) level. This research therefore attempts to explore both high and low performing DHBs regarding the adoption and implementation of quality improvement initiatives specifically from the perspective of organisational culture.
