Tom Batley

Tom teaches and researches operations and production management, total quality and innovation management at the University of Otago. He initially trained as a professional engineering manager and worked in the aeronautical and tyre industries. He also worked as a management consultant in the UK and New Zealand. Tom's publications and research interests are in production planning and inventory control, quality management and service quality, just-in-time systems, material requirements planning, management skills development and engineering management. He writes cases concerned with operations strategy and management, and small business management.
