John Lawrence

Dr. John Lawrence is an associate professor at the University of Idaho, where he teaches classes in operations management, international business and strategic management. John is an active user and writer of teaching cases, and is a member of the editorial board of the Case Research Journal in the United States. John spent the winter semester of 2002 at the University of Otago, teaching quality management and writing cases with the faculty in the department of management. John has also taught and/or conducted research in Spain, France, Italy, Sweden and Mexico. In addition to case research, John’s research is in the field of quality management, particularly how quality management principles apply within institutions of higher education. John is also active with the state of Idaho’s Quality Award organization and is the advisor to the University of Idaho’s chapter of the American Indian Business Leaders. He holds bachelors and masters degrees in engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA and Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University.
