Charles
Patti
Professor Charles Patti is Head, School of Advertising, Marketing,
and Public Relations, Faculty of Business, at Queensland
University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.
Charles teaches integrated marketing communication, advertising
management, and marketing management. Prior to joining QUT
in 1997, he had been a member of the staff at the University
of Hartford, the University of Denver, and Arizona State
University. He has also held a number of international teaching
assignments, including the University of Otago (New Zealand),
Helsinki School of Economics (Finland), and Bocconi University
(Italy).
Professor Patti’s research covers the general area
of marketing management and focuses on marketing communication.
He is the author and co-author of seven books and dozens
of journal articles, business case studies, and reports.
Among his books are: Cases in Marketing and Marketing
Communication (Pearson Education Australia), Business-to-Business
Advertising (McGraw-Hill Irwin), Advertising:
A Decision-Making Approach (Harcourt), and The
Making of Effective Advertising (Prentice-Hall).
His research has appeared in a number of journals, including
the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Marketing,
the Journal of Advertising, the Journal of Advertising Research,
the Journal of Promotion Management, and the
Journal of Marketing Communications. Professor Patti is the Associate Editor for
the Journal of Marketing Communications and the Singapore
Management Review. He is also on the editorial boards of
the Journal of Promotion Management and the Journal of Marketing
Education.
