Short description of research topic:

This thesis seeks to improve traditional knowledge management models. It discusses the definition of knowledge, and the importance of moving away from traditional hierarchies between data, information, and knowledge. It also challenges the traditional views on knowledge processing system within organisations.

The main outcomes are the introduction of two new models which adopt a complexity-based perspective, highlighting the non-linearity of knowledge dynamics within individuals and organisations relationships. This study uses a multi-method approach focusing primarily on a Delphi study and case studies.
