Short description of research:
My current research concerns the replacement of financial management information systems by a large public sector organisation. Its research problem theory is the Diffusion of Innovations of Rogers M Everett. I have examined all relevant archival documents, conducted in-depth interviews and interacted with the financial analyst, executive sponsor, third-party change agent, project team members, and the incumbent and prospective vendors who participated in the Request for Information (RFI) or short-listed to Request for Proposal (RFP). I have been allowed to examine the RFI document, responses to the RFI, the RFP document, and the responses to the RFP. Likewise, I had the opportunity to observe the interactions between the consultants representing the chosen vendor of the new enterprise systems and the opinion leaders. This research is my PhD thesis. Also, it will be the basis of a book I will be writing for practitioners like me. The working title of the book is: A Business Case of Replacing Enterprise Systems . I am looking forward to complete my PhD thesis soon.
