SIRC 2008 & GeoCart'2008

The 20th Annual Colloquium of the Spatial Information Research Centre

in conjunction with National Cartographic Conference GeoCart'08

Theme: Space-Time Models and Visualisation

1st - 3rd September, 2008

Conference Themes

The 20th Annual Spatial Information Research Centre colloquium is running in conjunction with GeoCart'2008.  The main themes of SIRC this year are the theory and application of spatial and space-time models.  These themes  broaden and complement the audience for GeoCart'08 and it is hoped that researchers will join the combined conference to explore both visualisation, cartography and the broader themes of spatial research covered by SIRC.  Areas of research for SIRC include:

Space-time Simulations and Networking
Spatial Information Systems Research and Development
Construction of 3-D models in computer graphics and simulation
  Space-time Visualisation & Cellular Automata
Modelling Areas:
  Public health and GIS
  Epidemiology & Ecological Genetics
  Remote Sensing
  Environmental Management
Spatial aspects of botany, ecology and zoology
  Network models, Social Structures
Spatial Data Mining

Pattern discovery with spatial data

Tools for data mining of spatio-temporal relations

  Spatial similarity
Applications of Spatial Information Systems
  Spatio-temporal models of natural processes
  Ecological modelling
  Sampling, Interpolation, Visualisation
Cognitive Aspects of Space
How people use and perceive space
  Spatial models for mental processes
  Mental maps
  Representation and Transformations of Scale
