Andrew joined the PhD program in July 2011. Prior to this he was
involved in the international finance industry as a trade analyst
with Citigroup Malaysia. Andrew completed his undergraduate studies
in banking before being awarded an Australian Endeavour Awards scholarship
to undertake a Masters degree in International Economics and Finance
at The University of Queensland. His Masters dissertation is an
examination of socioeconomic variables that influence population
health and their sensitivity towards different model specifications.
His current PhD research focuses on analyzing the interrelationships
between climate, economic growth and population health. A longitudinal
data set of climate and development variables will be utilized to
assist with this investigation. The main objective of Andrew's thesis
is to explain the dynamics of climate change and its effects on
health and growth across countries.
