PBRF
The Performance-Based Research Fund (PBRF) is the Government funding mechanism for the tertiary education sector in New Zealand. Funding is allocated through the PBRF according to the quality of the research produced in each institution. The system takes into account the quality of researchers, research degree completions and external research income.
The second round of PBRF was held in 2006, with every Department in the School of Business building strongly on their results of the previous round in 2003. The School of Business proved once again to have exceptional strengths in Tourism and Economics research.
Further information on PBRF can be found on the University of Otago site.
