Undergraduate Study: Required Papers
Began your BCom 2007, 2008 or 2009?
Students currently enrolled in the BCom degree will have the same paper requirement as when they began their qualification. Students who began their BCom from 2007-2009, must include the following papers:
- BSNS 101 Accounting and Financial Information (offered for the final time in Summer School 2010. If you have not passed the paper by that time, then you will be required to take BSNS 107 instead.)
- BSNS 102 Quantitative Analysis for Business
- BSNS 103 Marketing and Consumption
- BSNS 104 Principles of Economics 1
- BSNS 105 Management and Organisations
- BSNS 106 E-business and Information Systems Development
- BSNS 201 Business and Society (offered for the final time in semester 2, 2010)
The changes to the required papers should not affect most current students. Students should be able to enrol in the papers as planned from the beginning of their degree programme. In exceptional circumstances students may be unable to complete the course requirements due to legitimate constraints, such as doing second year law in 2010.
Important BSNS 201 Information for students studying in 2012
Students unable to take BSNS 201 must seek a “Course Variation” approval through the Office of the Dean to substitute another 200 or 300 level Commerce paper outside their major subject area. Students who have completed neither BSNS 101 nor BSNS 201 may substitute BSNS 107 and 108.
